Three successful penalties from former Lions and Sharks number nine Rory Kockott helped steer his adopted French club Castres to a 9-6 Heineken Cup win over Glasgow on Friday.

On a freezing night, Kockott and Glasgow's Scott Wight traded a pair of penalties each and went into half-time with the scores tied at 6-6 in what was a poor advert for European rugby.

In the second half and with 57 minutes gone, Kockott was able to nudge Castres into the lead with a long penalty.

With Glasgow unable to threaten further they saw their Heineken Cup hopes end as Castres held on to keep their campaign alive.
