After only two appearances into his Munster career, CJ Stander has been sidelined after breaking a bone in his right hand.
The former Bulls flanker has been ruled out of for the rest of 2012 and will miss Munster's back-to-back Heineken Cup clashes with Saracens.
It is a huge blow for the 22-year-old South African who will be out until January as the club prepare for their key two battles.
