Wales full-back Leigh Halfpenny has been discharged from the hospital after scans revealed his neck injury suffered from the Test defeat against Australia wasn't serious.

Halfpenny was carried off on a stretcher complaining of neck pain after being hurt tackling Dave Dennis in the build-up to Kurtley Beale's match-winning try for the Wallabies with 20 seconds left. Australia won Saturday's match 14-12 in Cardiff.

Halfpenny, whose four penalties weren't enough to stop Wales slipping to a seventh straight Test defeat, will now undergo a period of treatment; it is not yet known when he will be fit to return to action.
