SA try "luckiest in history"

England lock Geoff Parling has described South Africa's match-winning try at Twickenham on Saturday as the "luckiest in history."

South Africa produced the game's only try after a box kick from Ben Youngs ricocheted back towards the England try-line off JP Pietersen, with Tom Wood fumbling the loose ball forwards and Willem Alberts pouncing to score.

The try gave South Africa a crucial ten-point lead going into half-time, forcing England to claw their way back into the match and fall narrowly short of victory.

"It was probably the flukiest try I have ever seen in the history of rugby," said to Parling to The Leicester Mercury.

"It came at a crucial stage of the game. We fought back well, got into the game and finished on top.

"At the whistle, we were not very far away - but we cannot keep saying that. I am gutted. We feel like it's another game that we should have won.

"We were not clinical enough at certain times but we did some things really well. Our breakdown, our defence and our scrum were good.

"They didn't want to scrum against us, they just wanted to mess about.

"They don't attack much either, they play field position and then come at you. We felt we defended really well against them and their so-called 'big runners' kept getting knocked back.

"There is this fallacy about South Africa having this super-human pack - but they are just blokes. Good blokes - but they are just blokes.

"We want to be known as that big, damaging pack. But we have to start winning games."

It's called the luck of the bounce... sometimes the ball does things in your favour and sometimes it does things which bite you in the arse... get over it now ffs, all i've heard all weekend is the constant moaning and whinging about the "luckiest try ever" you lost, end of! Why didn't you go and score your own try to counter it? I'll tell you why, you couldn't break our solid defense thats why!! Typical moaning English, moan moan moan moan.

I want to maon, moan about the way Eben was targeted by that Welsh pratt owens from the word go... I'm sure each match official for the day gets a phone call from the IRB on the day of the match and is instructed to target and penalise our enforcers for anything. Eben plays a hard game and get pinged for it or told to behave himself or he's off... this is rugby OWENS, it's meant to be played hard and this is what he does, you of course believe otherwise and your blatent discontempt towards him during the game was so enident... complete and utter bias against SA players once again! MOAN MOAN MOAN MOAN about the state of ref's in the N Hemisphere, they're utterly useless and so far behind the SA refs in particular. Oh wait it's the way in which they interpret the laws... Sorry but the laws are pretty clear, how can your interpretation of them be so far apart... poor poor calling on your behalf Nigel nany boy!

As for you Parling, the BOKS have had a looooong year!! We have a tri-nations to contend with, the top three sides in the world coming in off the back of the S15 campaign... sorry but this is not 6nations or premiership rugby, it's 3 classes above and that takes it out of you. To top that WE have to travel not you... is it not clear that we're tired out? This is no excuse however but i will say one thing, you think we are not much to deal with do you? Just wait until this YOUNG side comes together, wait until the 7, 8 or 9 first choice injured players are back to fitness and in the squad, wait until we have had a well deserved break from a long year... then play us and come and say that we "just want to mess about" you clueless knob. I so wish Schalk Burger and Bizzie we on the field to shut you up good and proper!!

Aww sweet, need a bit of an ego boost do we? You're pathetic, you sound like a f***ing whining, jealous toddler who can't get what he wants.

Hahaha sounds like some serious jealousy going on from Parling!! He can dream on, England will never match SA in the physical dept... the delusional tool!

Willem Alberts and co run over the English team when we played in South Africa and they were no match for our physical superiority. Last game of a long season, bring them on in SA again soon!

That was probably the first time i ever saw us score a lucky try! Lol all the rest are pure best! Well nice to finally have some luck go our way and not a ref against us!

Fact of the matter is you "make your luck". The All Blacks look like they get the bounce of the ball too often; they do, but that's because the earn it by being really good.

The bokke are becoming good and get the bounce of the ball as a result!
