Etzebeth cited for eye-gouging

Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth has been cited for making contact with the "eye or eye area" of Scotland fly-half Greig Laidlaw.
The alleged incident occurred in the second half of South Africa's 21-10 victory at Murrayfield on Saturday.
21-year-old Etzebeth will appear before an International Rugby Board disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
South Africa play England at Twickenham on Saturday.
The IRB's recommended sanctions for any player found guilty of 'eye-gouging' range from a low entry point of 12 weeks to a high entry point of 24 weeks with a maximum possible ban of three years.
Meanwhile, Argentina prop Juan Figallo has been cited for head-butting France captain Pascal Pape at the end of the Pumas' 39-22 defeat in Lille on Saturday night.
Figallo's hearing is listed for Wednesday. Argentina face Ireland in Dublin on Saturday.

Is he guily, or is this just the pommies rigging proceedings to put the boks of training. Who is the citing commisioner? What is the process. Who claims to have been eye gouged? Was it a player, coach or anyone else who has instigated the allegation, to become an investigation... We need more info.

I did not see the game as it was not shown over here but this is not Etzebeths style - he is upfront and direct
usually so this is hard to believe unless it was accidental and I am not saying it was ,only that it is not really his style.

Well said Bokbe!! I am told the video evidence will exonerate Etzebeth. Seems like England are very worried about facing the young man. I would like to see the video evidence myself.
As for the kiwi bird "brains' they pride themselves in being less dirty players than the worlds worst - Samoa!! Bok fans are quick to talk up their next big "enforcer" (Bakkies never targeted an AB forward...Kaino would put him in a nursing home), but are quicker to pull out the hankies when they're on the receiving end...(Thorn on Schmidt or whatever his name was). Of course we will wait for the evidence been00, I havn't seen it myself yet but assume it's true based on reputation alone (esp when the lad comes out saying he is a big Bakkies fan).

You obviously don't understand the changing ethnic population demographics in NZ, which means that since the 50's since the first influx of polynesians, and subsequent generations born in NZ has resulted in an increasing number of polynesians playing rugby at all levels and hence an increasing number playing for the AB', from1 samoan, Brian Williams in the 70"s to however many playing now for the AB's. I should know my granddad was part of that 50's influx, and you win part of your bet, I am polynesian but born in NZ. The fact that there are some other non born NZer's playingfor the AB's makes your poaching claim totally irrelevant cause they are playing legally and choose to play for NZ. If not take it to the IRB. The fact that SA plays non south africans like the Beast and even Kevin Putt (A NZer), but you still feel that your scenario is not the same is like thinking your not a serial murderer cause you killed 5 but the other guy killed 7. But saffas are apparently immune from prosecution nowadays given their default propensity to maim opposition players at any and all costs.
