Bok duo get green light
Oct 31,2012
The Springboks have been boosted with news that flank Francois Louw and hooker Adriaan Strauss are fit for South Africa's tour to Europe.
Louw hurt his neck in an Aviva Premiership game with Bath over the weekend, but scans revealed that the injury was not as serious as initially feared.
Strauss, meanwhile, had picked up a knee injury during the Free State Cheetahs' first promotion-relegation match against the Kings and was forced to sit out the second clash between the two sides last Friday.
However, the Springbok vice-captain was given the all-clear by Free State Cheetahs team doctor Ian Morris and will be available for South Africa's opening fixture against Ireland in Dublin.

nj,
What about the ex Bok captain (Strauss) who moved to OZ and was capped for Australia?

The law changed after that. He was in the OZ 1999 World Cup squad, so has a RWC winner medal.

Its great news to have francois louw and strauss in the squad for the novemeber tests.... i thought louw was great in the rugby championship.... its also good to see HM including players in his squad that play their rugby outside of south africa espieally europe.... these players can bring a understanding of how the game is played in europe which is so different to how we the kiwis and aussies play rugby.... inside info to beat ireland scotland and the poms.... although having said that ireland and england have former springbok players playing for them in the international squad so maybe the passing of info will work both ways.... its gonna be interesting.... GO BOKKE.....!!!!!!!!

Do you mean former SA based players, cause I'm sure you know that once you're capped for your country you can't ever play for a different one, so there's no way former Springbok players will be playing for Ireland or England.
