Div Lands New Job
Jun 18,2012
Former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers has landed a new position after months in the South African rugby wilderness.
De Villiers on Monday confirmed that he has taken up the position of director of rugby at the University of Western Cape with immediate effect.
“The university has gained a good reputation academically over the past four years and they want me to help lift the standards of their sport,” said De Villiers on Monday.
"I've been officially involved with the university since the start of the month but we are only in position to announce my involvement now.
“It's good to be working again and great to have a hands-on role in the sport I love. I have been impressed with the potential to grow rugby at UWC and think I can play a positive role there.”
De Villiers added that negotiations between him and the government for a possible rugby ambassadorial role are still ongoing.

An ambassadorial role!!! He talks nonsense a lot of the timebut I liked his outspoken views in his book.
No this is a nice job for ou pdv and I hope he has good success. A university envir0nment will be good for pd as well.

Good luck PDV! It seems that no matter what colour you are being a bok coach is a tug of war trying to please the nation across the board! Think HM just need to keep an open mind to talent and not just draft bulls players, though he is moving in the right direction week by week so im sure the nation is rejoining and rejoycing again! Go bokke....

Yep....right from the top.....The Government has instructed the SAR officials to appoint him as a rugby Ambassador to Somalia.
With their rugby playing ability in that region of Africa and his skill set in rugby they will both be going nowhere.
Go PDV....go, go.

LOL! Come on guys. He's not that bad. :)
But an ambassador's only real skill is his communication, and that PDV lacks terribly! But I liked some of his ideas, so a director of rugby is actually a good position for him.
Hmmm... maybe he'll have Rassie's old position soon. :P
